The official Gold Coast Music Industry Association Showcase and Networking Night will take place on SATURDAY 2OTH JUNE at the MIAMI TAVERN SHARK BAR.

The night is a chance for local musos and businesses to get together and network, while checking out some of the best live bands the Gold Coast has to offer. Doors open at 8:00pm, and there will be an hour dedicated to networking with fellow musicians, businesses owners and Gold Coast Music Industry types before the bands kick off at 9:00pm. Live performances from LEBELLE, RYAN MURPHY, DOGTAGS and MAYAN FOX will showcase the talents of the GCMIA members and help you rock the night away.

There will be free handouts on the night of the new GCMIA Bandtag compilation card, which will feature awesome tracks from our members including MIACARLA, THE CITY SHAKEUP, MAYAN FOX, DOGTAGS, RYAN MURPHY, JAZZ D’ARCY, EMMA LOUISE LOBB, ROB SAUNDERS, PETER MILLER and more! If you are a band or business owner that is planning on attending, bring along your promo material to place on the giveaway table on the night. This can be CDs, demos, T-Shirts, badges, discount cards or any other merchandise that you want to give away to promote your band or business.

The Showcase and Networking Night is OPEN TO EVERYONE! While it is a networking night, feel free to tell your friends and family to come along as well, as the gig is going to be rocking and we’d love to have a big crowd there on the night!

Coolangatta Sands Hotel is bringing back an old favourite with a two stage Battle of the Bands music extravaganza hosted by the Smashed Crabs. The decks will be cleared in the lounge bar while the Gold Coasts bests bands perform for their chance for a posse in the Final, and of course their shot at the first place prize of $1,500 cash provided by Tooheys Extra Dry and a day in Beck Cains Recording Studio.  

The Sands Port O Call Bar hosts acoustic talent in a relaxed atmosphere where contestants have a shot at winning $500 cash while the Sands Lounge Bar hosts a big stage, big band party room, this really is the Jam of all Jams! 

Kel Petersen from the Smashed Crabs is pumped about hosting the new competition and is looking forward to taking a seat on the judges panel! The judging format is based 50% on the judges score and 50% on the audience response - which is determined by a decibel reading. We have had some red hot bands come through over the last 3 months and we want to invite everyone back for some friendly competition and most importantly to give away some serious cash and the opportunity to record a produce a song.
