GCMIA brings the GC music industry together

The revitalised Gold Coast Music Industry Association (GCMIA) is bringing the music industry’s who’s who together for the first of its networking nights for 2010 on 29th January. The night will also highlight some of the Gold Coast’s leading musicians such as Bowser, Fairchild Republic and Triple J unearthed starlets Bambini leading the way.

GCMIA President Josie Cooper said “With such an enormous talent pool on the Gold Coast we look forward to holding regular networking events to provide a 'common link' and co-ordinate the efforts of those working in the music industry on the Gold Coast”.

“The event will give those attending a chance to not only meet with industry representatives such as Q Music and APRA but also local print media including music street presses and news organisations.

The GCMIA will again utilise the Gold Coast’s only digital music card producer BANDTAG to produce a digital download compilation card to be distributed free of charge at the event. The compilation card contains tracks from numerous talented Gold Coast artists such as the likes of APRA finalist Ryan Murphy.

“The main aim of the GCMIA is to support the growth and development of the Gold Coast music industry.  To promote and raise the profile of artists and the music scene and ultimately to create a self sustaining industry here on the Gold Coast, regular networking events, the compilation album and the GCMIA’s website are all steps in this direction” said Ms Cooper.

For those involved in the local music scene, wishing to attend the evening and receive a free Bandtag compilation card, RSVPs are being accepted up until Friday 28th January by emailing the GCMIA on information@gcmia.org.au
