AGM brings new blood to the board |

The recent Gold Coast Music Industry Association (GCMIA) AGM has seen a flash of new blood and wealth of industry talent being appointed to the board, with sweeping changes to keys positions and the introduction of an Honorary board position. GCMIA’s new President elect Dan Ceh (co-founder of WHO Agencies) now leads the board which includes: Vice President: Erin Wheatley (Bandtag & Brand Tag) Treasurer: Freddy Holler (Pocketpunk) Secretary: Emily Cook (Pocketpunk & Music Coordinator Billabong) Board Members: Terri Dempsey-Ceh (WHO Agencies) Margy Joughin (Strategy Specialist) Jolie Hertzberg (Surfers Paradise Festival) Chris Cameron (Law Student) Ngaire Nelson (DJ) Project Officer: Rick Trewavas
Plus special acceptance by Mick Hadley (Purple Hearts) of the newly created honorary board member position. “Mick will see a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm brought to the board, which will only mean a massive benefit to the development of the association and its members” said Dan.
“We intend on continuing to explore the main aim of GCMIA in supporting the growth and development of the Gold Coast Music Industry. To promote and raise the profile of artists and the music scene and ultimately create a self sustaining industry here on the Gold Coast” continued GCMIA’s new president, Dan Ceh.
The board has already convened for its first meeting and has taking steps to adopt its new strategic plan and further develop its relationships with the Gold Coast City Council, Connecting Southern Gold Coast and various industry players/venues.
